Mw 9.3 Off West Coast of Northern Sumatra

updated 27 May 2021 UTC

On 26 December 2004 a great earthquake occurred off the West coast of Northern Sumnatra. The seismic event occurred at 00:58:50 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 9.3.

Two planetary alignments occurred before and during the earthquake, Mercury-Sun-Uranus on the 23rd and Sun-Venus-Mars early on the 26th. However, the high concentration of wide planetary geometry (WPG) that also preceded the great earthquake on the 23rd (Mw 8.1) must be taken into account. See also the report below.

Mw 8.1 North of Macquarie Island

updated 27 May 2021 UTC

On 23 December 2004 a great earthquake occurred North of Macquarie Island. The seismic event occurred at 14:59:11 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 8.1.

Two alignments occurred before and during the earthquake. The first, Mercury-Sun-Neptune, occurred on the 19th, while the second, Mercury-Sun-Uranus, occurred on the 23rd. However, what made this time very critical was the high concentration of wide planetary geometry (WPG), which often forms in the days before large earthquakes. The great earthquake on the 26th (see report above) is also a direct result of this WPG.

                Mercury-Sun-Neptune 2004-12-19, 16:43:04 314°44'13"
                Mercury-Sun-Uranus 2004-12-23, 20:55:24 336°00'46"
