Mw 9.0 Cascadia

On 27 January 1700 a mega-thrust earthquake occurred at the Cascadia subduction zone. The seismic event occurred around 5:00 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 9.0.

Three planetary alignments occurred from the 23rd to the 26th while lunar geometry was moderate (geometry index 8) throughout the week. On the 26th and early 27th no less than 6 WPG peaks preceded the earthquake.
