SARS: An Epidemic of Global Fear
Gaia/ Mother Earth through Pepper Lewis

June 2003

Dear Mother Earth,

My job takes me to cities and countries that many do not have the opportunity to visit. I consider myself fortunate and have counted my blessings many times over. Recently, however, I have begun to experience the same discontent and malaise that many of my friends have already succumbed to. Everywhere I go I see depressed unhappy faces, ill health, fear and even death. The fact that I carry a U.S. passport now seems to add an additional blight to an already gloomy circumstance. I have experienced first hand the impact that SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Symptom) is having upon an entire population. I must confess that I have been deeply affected by this as never before and would sincerely appreciate some perspective on this unpleasant subject.

- Name & Address Withheld

SARS is a bio-engineered pathogen. It is being test marketed in both the eastern and the western hemispheres of the planet. It is mutational, meaning that it can reinvent itself and even change its symptoms. Different strains are already being discovered and it will soon be seen that the virus can be dormant or active. Those who are fortunate enough to survive its devastating effects will still carry it within their bloodstream for a long time. It is inadvisable to give or receive blood that has been exposed to this bio-germ. SARS is not new. It was created long ago as a by-product of a well-funded study that sought to merge the science of species survival with an in-depth understanding of populational fortitude. It is one of many "inventions" of the latter twentieth century based upon the translation of an ancient manuscript that described in great detail the decimation of a species that had proliferated elsewhere.

The world cannot sustain its current population given that resources are being under appreciated, overextended, and taken for granted. Those who govern from behind walls, masks and screens know this. They have studied the statistical outcome of many eventualities including nuclear war and other unfathomable realities. Computer programs have been assigned full-time tasks that include computations of every imaginable 'what-if' scenario. Country, religious sect, longitudinal and latitudinal coordinates, seasonal and climatic variances, ozone layer viability, campaigns of aggression, cultural and genetic genocide and other statistical demographics are evaluated and updated day by day and sometimes hour by hour.

Given an ongoing desire to reduce the surface population of the earth, do you believe that a cure for cancer will be announced any time soon? Several cures for cancer already exist, as do cures for the prevention of AIDS and other twentieth century inventions. These have been silenced temporarily, but not for long. The research was purchased with grants and contributions from endowments that have strong connections to those who influence leadership and policymaking. Charitable organizations have solicited and received dollars in your name and that of others with sincere and altruistic hearts, but this has been the result. It is not difficult to find a cure to a disease that has been created unless one is prevented from doing so. Most often, the disease and the cure are both created at the same time.

A disease is created in much the same way as a new fragrance or product might be developed. It is first designed with great care and then created. Is it not obvious that most of the current diseases seem to afflict the elderly and the otherwise weak? Would these individuals not be considered expendable to those who think but do not feel? Are not the old and the weak more costly and burdensome upon both government and society? These words carry a disheartening tone, but think carefully if they have not already been whispered to you before now?

Those who purchased the rights to the cure for cancer are the same as those who paid for the well-funded all-inclusive studies. Knowledge and intelligence are both commodities that are bought and sold and they are not as expensive as many would believe. Are those who sold this intelligence bad, wrong or evil? No, they are not. Just like you they are interested in leading productive lives, raising consciousness and making a physical and spiritual contribution in their lifetime. Their reality has been distorted as yours sometimes is. Fact and fiction are no longer opposites but partners who share the same page in history.

The cure for several kinds of cancer will soon be announced. The cure for AIDS will come shortly after, perhaps within the next year or two. Why? Because the path the disease takes has been discovered by more than one source. Its origin and energetic signature has been compromised. If a secret is no longer a secret then it may as well be a well-publicized event, do you see? The announcement will be well timed and managed with the political campaign of the chosen victor. There will be much ado and fanfare that will include the promise of more dollars spent in the name of medical research. The pharmaceutical industry is a powerful cabal, perhaps more so than the tobacco industry that has recently fallen so far from favor.

SARS is not a disease, but a political commodity; it is a tool with which to govern. What is the fastest way to turn the tide of political and economic unrest? Fear. What is fastest way to ensure that a population needs its government? Fear. What is the fastest way to control a population's movement and freedom? Fear. Again I say that there is a product that is being test marketed world wide, but it is not what most believe, it is called FEAR.

The malaise that you describe in your communication is currently afflicting more than fifty percent of the world's population. Minds and bodies are becoming depressed at alarming rates. Anti-depressant drugs are currently being prescribed in greater numbers than any plague-eradicating solution throughout the course of human history. As the natural nutritional content in consumable food continues to decrease, the artificial content continues to rise. The body makes do with vitamin and mineral supplements when they are available and introduced in healthful quantities, but suffers otherwise. The body speaks to the brain and makes its needs known in ways that are small or large, easy or difficult as the case may be. Unmet needs become demands and unmet demands become unhappy, unfortunate and distressed individuals.

Is it wrong to depend upon narcotics such as anti-depressants? No, as long as it is understood that they are a temporary remedy for a situation or circumstance that has a permanent answer elsewhere. Anti-depressants and other drugs do not repair the body; they help to sustain it so that from a more balanced and integrated perspective a more appropriate choice can be made. They help to merge the hemispheres of the brain that have drifted so far apart that reality and illusion exist side by side. If the brain cannot differentiate between reality and illusion, it shuts down or rebels depending upon the chemical make-up of the individual.

Depression is the result when fear is not addressed or dismissed. The greatest fear among conscious humanity at this time is that it will not realize its purpose, or that a purpose that includes a creative life beyond basic survival is only a fiendish interpretation of the imagination. The greatest fear among unconscious humanity at this time is that it will not become conscious enough to experience its imagination, or that its purpose may be basic survival after all. Can you see how thin the divide between consciousness and unconsciousness really is? The veils that separate you from your Self are just as thin; certainly thin enough to begin to see how to erase the illusion of separation.

Weakness did not create SARS, but it allowed it to become a part of its reality. Fear did not create cancer, but it allowed it to share an otherwise healthy body. Depression did not create Prozac, but it gave access to the brain's hemispherical references. Cynicism and apathy are not diseases, but they invite malaise into the spirit. An unlived life does not suggest pain as an alternative, but it does not celebrate creativity.

Your life on earth is a commemorative event, it is not meant to be taken with a sedative or lived as a flag at half-mast. Those who search the past do so for clues that greatness existed and those who look to the future do so with the same expectancy. Humanity is earth's treasure and its treasury. It is a pity that unconsciously it continues to search out debts to pay that were never incurred.

Opportunities to choose the pitiful or the plentiful will continue to present themselves. SARS is one example; there will be many others. Each opportunity will offer itself differently, but will have many similarities in common. Fear versus power will continue to be a common theme as will truth versus the clandestine, wealth versus poverty, illusion versus reality, illness versus well-being, consciousness versus unconsciousness and awareness versus ignorance. When separation is discarded in favor of unity, SARS will be discarded as well.

SARS is a debilitating assault on the immune system. It makes the body stand as the lone soldier on the battlefield, attempting to hold off an invasion on its own. The soldier cowers in fear at the immensity of the opposition that stands against it, watching helplessly as the invading army prepares to occupy a body that once knew desire, free will, well-being and choice. The solution and the antidote are well within reach. It is not a newfangled pill newly arrived on the scene at substantial cost although this will more than likely be introduced as well.

The key is in choosing wellness, vitality, vigor, and a creative use of every cell, molecule and atom in one's keeping. The door to the dormant is in awakening the creative life and in fulfilling one's purpose. A purpose is a creative expression of a self-aware soul. The purpose is to live the imagination, not to imagine a purpose. You will travel many miles in your purpose and even more in the journey that spans the inner self. In accumulating your frequent flyer vouchers make certain that you do not miss the opportunities to see that courage and fear are both dressed elegantly.
