Do you ever wish you could simply start over and make your life into something quite different from what you now experience? Do you wish you could forget your painful past and live each moment as though nothing had gone on before? Do you find yourself daydreaming about your cherished hopes, wondering how you can manifest them in your life?

If your answer to any of these questions was yes and you re wondering how you can shift your life amidst increasing obstacles, it’s helpful to keep a few things in mind. First, remember that you are not alone and that you have lots of help. You are interconnected with others, affecting and being affected by them as you walk your path. These relationships, whether they bring you joy or pain, offer you immense opportunities to evolve. Even if you live in a small town, if you have access to a television or the Internet, you can learn from inspirational and tragic stories about peoples lives. In times of despair during a natural disaster, for example, a story about one person’s courage can help you to feel more hopeful. At another time, you may feel heartened by the story about one person’s compassion and selflessness directed towards a group of people in need. These stories are all around you, even if they don t often make the top headlines.

Second, know that right now, there are more wisdom teachers and more non-physical Light beings interacting with humanity than you have ever experienced before. They have come to assist you during these chaotic times. Greater numbers of these beings have assembled in response to the enormous need of humanity. To be sure, other ages have been known for their illuminated teachers, but the ordinary person’s access to these beings was limited. In today’s world of instant multimedia communications and cross-continent travel, the average person has many more opportunities to learn from visionaries, sages and enlightened beings.

A third factor is that more people today are being exposed to alternative views of what it means to be human. The learning is happening in the schools, through subtle messages in the media, and in the happenstance of everyday life. There is a growing awareness of ageless truths that previously were only studied and known by adepts at mystery schools. More people around you are waking up. It may not seem that way some days, but awakenings indeed are happening. What does this mean for you? The growing shift in consciousness means you will have more people in your world who either speak your language or are opening to receive new paradigm ideas. This means more possibilities of friendships and other relationships with people who can help you. It also means that human institutions, laws and corporate structures are receiving a transformational overhaul. Your entire society is being impacted in very profound ways. Secrets and lies are being exposed. As the momentum of this change continues, you and others are creating a new kind of world that you will want to live in!

In this coming year, you will witness a multitude of power struggles in your world. Some of them will involve countries. Others will be right in your backyard in your community. Some will involve key people in your life. Each time you feel personally impacted by a power struggle, remember that this ego-based way of relating is part of a dying paradigm. As humankind evolves, power struggles will become obsolete. The use of control and manipulation will become outdated. This archaic means of relating is a chief source of suffering in your world. Set your intention to learn from each power struggle that appears in your life. Invite your Higher Self to show you what needs to shift within you so that you can be authentically empowered. Decide each day that you will resist the habitual human patterns of blaming others, needing to feel right, feeling hurt or angry, and needing to win. When you find yourself enticed to fall into these types of destructive patterns, forgive yourself and let go of the need to fix the situation. Pray for a Divine resolution.

The Power of Prayer

Prayer is one of the essential elements of travelling your path with ease and grace. It is prayer that allows you the power to dramatically shift your circumstances. When you get into the habit of prayer and trusting in the infinite wisdom of something greater than you, the new life you wish to create can begin to take form. As you cultivate your partnership with the Divine, you discover that miracles can be a part of your everyday experience.

The beginning of a new year is an excellent time to set in motion new habits of connecting with non-physical guidance. Take a few minutes right now to reflect on the kind of partnership you would like to have with the Divine. Acknowledge your non-physical guides and teachers, and encourage them to guide you along a path of illumination. Ask for specific help to address situations in your life that cause you distress. If you would like a more intimate relationship with your non-physical guides, pray for that to materialize. Ask for signs and reminders that can help you create a more tangible bond. As part of that, consider setting aside a specific time of each day to invite in the connection with your guides. Set your intention to hold this time sacred, not allowing diversions to get you off course. Request that Light and Divine grace shine brightly upon you, opening you to the fullness and richness of an awakened life.

Remember to dream big! If your dream book seems dusty or out of reach, ask spirit to clear away the dust and to bring the dreams close to your heart. This next year CAN be the time when you create the momentum to manifest your dreams. Allow the intuitive knowing within your heart to show you the way. Trust the feelings you have about timings and taking the next steps. Know that you have an awesome power, fuelled by spirit, to change your life. Trust this. As you continue the journey of rediscovering your Divine nature, we surround you with our love and blessings. We are The Council of 12.

Dearest friends I'm sending January's message out early so that you will have it to work with now and in the first few days of the new year. I m enthusiastic about being able to offer a number of seminars and workshops in 2006. Some of them will be brand new. We will begin the year with an evening of channelling with The Council of 12, timed on January 29 to coincide with the Chinese New Year and the new moon. In January, I also will begin a new series of DNA introductory evenings at the Bodhi Tree Bookstore. Each seminar will incorporate a theme. I ve been invited to speak again this year at the Conscious Life Expo, an annual conference at the LAX Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.
