Noah spoke to
God and God spoke to Noah. He told him to build
an arc for the day would come of a great flood. Can you
imagine what Noah was thinking when he received this message? Do
you think he had the money stashed under a rock to build this
arc?
When he received
this message he accepted it and agreed to do as he was instructed
to do not knowing how he would do this, just
that he would. If God had asked him to build an arc, he trusted
that God would also provide the means for him to build it.
What do you think
Noah’s wife thought when he confided in her? Did
she believe him? Did she support him in his vision? Did
anyone believe him when he spoke of this message he had received? Was
he deemed crazy by his peers? Did he even share with anyone
or did he keep this information to himself? I would think he
would have shared the message with others so they too may have had
the time to prepare and build their own arc to protect themselves
and their families from this flood he was told, would come.
But no one apparently believed this day would really come except
for this one man we call Noah, because he was the only one who built an
arc and managed to ”save” his family and the
animal kingdom. Everyone else perished in this flood, yet Noah
and his family went on to populate the earth. He was a loyal
servant to God.
Did God speak
to others and they did not listen or believe? Was
Noah the only one God spoke to directly? I guess we will
never really know the answer to this question but have we learned
anything from this story past? Are we preparing now for
what is to come? Or are we in disbelief? Where are the
Noah’s of today? Are they sharing the messages they
are receiving from God or are they keeping it to them self
for fear of being ridiculed or deemed crazy? What is God telling
you? Are you listening?
Life on earth exists today because of this one man who believed
in God and himself. He did not have a book to read that
told him of what was to come. He took the word of God that he
received directly from within seriously and began to prepare
for the flood. Do you think he wanted to believe this
would happen? Do you think there were other things he would
have rather been doing than building this arc? Although he did
what he was instructed to do and even if he had doubt, he persevered in
walking in faith, and as a result, he and his family were spared and
they went on to live a very long life.
Personally, I wish he had left the snakes behind!
The message today
is to believe in yourself and what you receive from God within. Do not worry what others will think
of you. Be a “Noah” of today! Continue to
walk in faith, be still and listen and you too will be lead
to safety in times of change.
