Living for Today
A message from Kerry and her Angels

February 13, 2007

Each morning when I awake, my slate is wiped clean. It is a new day and I am open to be guided into my new reality. A new truth, a new experience, a new way of living and viewing the world. The simplicity of living in the moment!

When I look into the eyes of children I see only love. I feel the essence of joy in not knowing what is going on in the world. Life is simple, life is pure and the only moment is the moment in the now.

When children are hungry, they welcome and savor that which is presented to them. When they are tired, they take hold of a soft blanket and lay themselves down to sleep. The floor, the sofa, the green grass or cement, where they lay is where they stay until they awake.

Curiosity is their favorite game. What is this? How does it work? What will happen if I press this button or throw it down on the ground? Crash, gasp, and the tears may flow. And then it is time to get up and go! On to the next experience. Every pebble is special and may taste good too? Why I may even taste the bottom of my shoe! (Which my grandson did last week! And he remains healthy and happy!)

And when they are hurt Mom or Dad can magically erase the pain with a kiss or a hug, and sometimes with the help of a cartoon band aid. And they are off to a new experience.

Exploring our world with the innocence and curiosity of a child can be our most precious gift of all! To awake each day with no memory of yesterday. To experience what ever comes our way with no preconceived notion and to be open to the next experience with curiosity and joy.

How many gifts in life do we miss because of our preconceived notions? How many meals do we wrinkle our nose and prefer another choice in the menu? How many wounds do we live with the pain, hold back the tears and forget the magic of healing with a kiss or a hug and sometimes a cartoon band aid, to remind us of the simplicity in life?

Why do we keep on going when our body says we are tired and need to rest? Why can’t we do as children do and take a little nap whenever and wherever? Have we cluttered our minds and our lives with information and responsibilities and forgotten how joyous life can be?

If we could just trust in our Father that all of our needs will be met with love as children do, then we would be free to explore that which excites us! We would be able to create joy and live everyday in the precious moment of the now. We would have no fear and would be able to appreciate and be grateful for each and every experience we may encounter. And if we are to encounter anything unpleasant, we could shed a few tears and pick ourselves back up to move on to the next experience, leaving the past behind.

What a wonderful world it would be if we as adults could live as children do. Let us learn from our children before they learn from us what we cannot erase with a kiss or a hug!

If you have forgotten what children do, there are plenty who will welcome you, into their world for a little time to play. If yours are grown and have moved away, go out and observe another’s child today!

Do you think these children think of what may come tomorrow? They do not! Nor shall we be concerned for tomorrow. Live for today!
