Reconstruction
of the 2007 Chilcomb Down formation
by Zef Damen
Date
1. Draw a circle.
Draw and extend the horizontal and vertical centerlines:

2. Copy circle
1 to its righthand intersection with the horizontal
centerline:

3. Copy circle
1 to its lefthand intersection with the horizontal centerline:

4. Draw the connecting
line between the two upper intersections of circle
1 with circles 2 and 3:

5. Construct a
circle centered at the intersection of line 4 and
the vertical centerline, tangent to circle 1 at the upper side:

6. Construct a
circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 5
at the lower side:

7. Copy circle
6 to the center of circle 2:

8. Construct a
circle concentric to circle 2, tangent to circle 5
at the lower righthand side:

9. Copy circle
8 to the center of circle 1:

10. Construct
a circle centered at the upper intersection of circle
1 and the vertical centerline, tangent to circle 9 at the upper
side:

11. Construct
a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle
10 at the lower side:

12. Copy circle
11 to the center of circle 2:

13. Only circles
1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11 and 12 are needed for the final reconstruction:

14. Remove all
parts not visible in the formation itself:

15. Colour all
areas corresponding to standing:

16. ...or to flattened
crop. This will finish the reconstruction of the 2007
Chilcomb Down crop circle formation:

17. The final
result, matched with the aerial image:
